How to root Samsung Exhibit II 4G

Google’s Android OS leads the US Smart phone market with 48.5% market share compared to 29.5% held by Apple’s iOS. The OS is used by a number of OEM’s (Original equipment manufacturers). Even though Android is open source OS, it is shipped in locked version where the buyer only gets “guest access”, which limits the user’s control over the device. For example, the owner is powerless to remove pre installed apps. Rooting gives super user access to the owner, allowing complete control of the device by the user.

Samsung is the leading player in the global mobile market. In the smart phone sector the company is the number one player competing with iPhone, BlackBerry and other Android players in the market. Samsung also sells smart phones based on its proprietary OS named Bada.

Today we will discuss how to root Samsung Exhibit II 4G. The Samsung Exhibit II 4G runs on a 1GHz Qualcomm processor and includes a 512MB RAM, a 3.7-inch WVGA (480-by-800-pixel) AMOLED display, and a pair of cameras (a 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera and a front-facing VGA camera). It runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) along with Samsung's TouchWiz custom overlay. The overlay adds few file-management functions, an application monitor and some additional features to the home screen. Physically, the Exhibit II 4G looks like a slightly smaller version of the Samsung Vibrant. The phone itself is 4.5 by 2.35 by 0.45 inches, and weighs 4 ounces.
