How to root Samsung Dart


Google’s Android OS leads the US Smart phone market with 48.5% market share compared to 29.5% held by Apple’s iOS. Globally, Android holds 49.2% market share compared to 18.9% held by iOS. It is estimated that, Android OS will capture a global market share of 48.8% by 2015, compared to 17.2% held by iOS.

Samsung is the leading player in the global mobile market. In the smart phone sector the company is the number one player competing with iPhone, BlackBerry and other Android players in the market. Samsung also sells smart phones based on its proprietary OS named Bada.

The Samsung Dart is an entry-level smart phone running Android 2.2 Froyo and includes most of the features of the ever expanding Android mobile platform. It is also known as Samsung SGH-T499, Samsung T499 and Samsung Tass.  It competes primarily with LG Optimus T in the lower end smart phone spectrum. The Samsung Dart packs a low quality 3.14” QVGA (240 x 320) LCD display.


Today we will discuss how to root Samsung Dart. Before we start, DISCLAIMER: Rooting may void the device’s warranty and the below mentioned method may be a bit risky and we are not responsible if the device is damaged or you lose data, therefore it is advisable to please proceed at your own risk.

Make sure that the battery is fully charged, because if the battery drains totally during the rooting process, bricking may happen. Also make sure to create a backup of the device data such as SMS, internet settings, contacts and other media files in order to get data back in case of problems.

Step 1: Install Samsung Kies into your desktop/laptop

Step 2: Download SuperOneClik from here

Step 2: Enable "USB Debugging". Path for USB debugging is Menu>Settings>Applications>Development.

Step 3: Also enable "Unknown Sources" from the following path: Menu>Settings>Applications

Step 4: Connect USB cable to the mobile and then connect to PC

Step 5: Run SuperOneClick application

Step 6: Select “root” and wait for the rooting to finish.

The phone will reboot itself after rooting. When the phone restarts, you will have a rooted Samsung Dart mobile.
