How to root HTC EVO 3D

The HTC Evo 3D launched in June 2011 is an Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" based smart phone. The device has a special feature, which allows the creation and viewing of 3D content. The device has two 5 MP rear-facing cameras, which allow it to click 3D images. It also includes a 3D-capable 4.3 inch qHD touch screen, which can disply 3D content without the need of special glasses. In the US, the Evo 3D was initially available exclusively with Sprint network. A number of GSM variants were launched by carriers in Europe, Canada and Asia Before we start rooting, DISCLAIMER: Rooting may void the device’s warranty and the below mentioned method may be a bit risky and we are not responsible if the device is damaged or you lose data, therefore it is advisable to please proceed at your own risk. Make sure that the battery is fully charged, because if the battery drains totally during the rooting process, bricking may happen. Also make sure to create a backup of the device data such as SMS, internet settings, contacts and other media files in order to get data back in case of problems. Step 1: (This step is for windows users only) Download and install the Fastboot drivers from the following link (downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe) Step 2: Now make sure that, HTC Sync is not installed on your PC, If it is already installed, please remove it before rooting. Step 3: Now download the latest version of the revolutionary tool from here. Step 4: After downloading the tool please plug in your device with the PC using a USB data cable. Step 5: Make sure to select the “charge only” option and also click the “Done” button. And also do not mount the SD Card. Step 6: Now select USB Debugging on your device by using the path: Settings > Applications > Development > Turn USB Debugging ON. Step 7: Now extract the contents of the Revolutionary program to a location of your choice. Step 8: Now right click the .exe file within the extracted files and select the command to “run as administrator” to run the program. Step 9: Enter the beta key received earlier while downloading Revolutionary file. This will switch off the security of the phone, which is required to root the device. Step 10: Now the smart phone will ask you weather you want to flash clockworkmod recovery or not, simply type y and select enter. Step 11: Once the process is over, it will automatically close the command prompt. Now you should see S-Off at the top of the window. Step 12: Now remove the battery and put it back. Step 13: Now switch on your device by holding the down volume and power until the screen boots up. Step 14: After booting, select the volume and power button to select recovery option. The phone will reboot to the clockworkmod recovery screen. Step 15: Now connect the phone with the PC using a USB data cable. Step 16: Select the Mounts option and the Storage using the volume up and down buttons and power to select. Step 17: Now select the “mount sdcard” option. You will see the sd card directory pop up on the PC screen. Step 18: Download root .zip file from here and save it to the PC(Please do not extract it) Step 19: After saving he file on the PC, copy it to root of the mobile’s sdcard and wait for it to transfer. Step 20: On the smart phone, please select the “unmount sdcard” option. And also select go back. Step 21: Now select the Install zip from sdcard ioption and choose the root .zip file. Step 22: Please wait for the application to flash. After the process is over, select reboot system now option. After reboot you will have a rooted HTC EVO 3D mobile.
