Samsung is the leading player
in the global mobile market. In the smart phone sector the company is the
number one player competing with iPhone, BlackBerry and other Android players
in the market. Samsung also sells smart phones based on its proprietary OS
named Bada.
Today we will discuss how to
root Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone was built by
Samsung in conjunction with Google has the same thickness as the iPhone 4S,
but sports a big 4.65-inch and 720p display. It also comes with a fast
dual-core CPU. In the US, it was launched with LTE on Verizon's network, and
is also available internationally as a pentaband HSPA+ device (I tested the
HSPA+ device).
The Galaxy Nexus was the
first phone to run Google's newest mobile operating system, Ice Cream
Sandwich (or Android 4.0). The device has a super AMOLED capacitive
touchscreen with 16M colors, 720 x 1280 pixels, 4.65 inches (~316 ppi pixel
density). The device includes 16 GB storage, 1 GB RAM, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n,
dual-band, DLNA and Wi-Fi hotspot. It also includes a 5MP camera with face
detection, autofocus, touch focus, LED flash and geo-tagging features.

Rooting may void the device’s warranty and the below mentioned method may be
a bit risky and we are not responsible if the device is damaged or you lose
data, therefore it is advisable to please proceed at your own risk.
Make sure that the battery is
fully charged, because if the battery drains totally during the rooting
process, bricking may happen. Also make sure to create a backup of the device
data such as SMS, internet settings, contacts and other media files in order
to get data back in case of problems.
Step 1: Since this will erase
all data on the device, therefore please make sure to back everything up
before beginning. Another important thing to note down is that, this program

communicate between Samsung devices. The software can be downloaded from the Samsung Global Download Center or the individual phone support

Step 5: Also enable
"Unknown Sources" from the following path:
Menu>Settings>Applications
Step 6: Right click the
program and select Run as Administrator and wait for it to open.
Step 7: In the program select
which device you are using, LTE/Verizon Nexus, or GSM/HSPA+ Nexus.
Step 8: Click on Drivers
under Initial Setup and follow the prompts to install the drivers for your
device.
Step 9: When it tells you to
plug in your device, plug in your device via USB cable.
Step 10: Once drivers are
installed, confirm that your device is visible to the program by clicking on
List Devices under Quick Tools. As long as it shows a serial number (regardless
of the number) you are ready to go to the next step.
Step 11: Now, click Unlock
under Unlock + Root and wait for your device to prompt you. When the device
asks the appropriate questions, select Yes using the volume buttons and wait
for it to reboot.
Step 12: After the bootloader
is unlocked, click on Root under Unlock + Root and wait for it to finish.
Once the device reboots
itself, you will get a rooted Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Now you have a rooted
device with root access, unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery image.
