HTC
Amaze 4G also known as the HTC Ruby outside America and Canada is a smart phone
manufactured by HTC Corporation and running the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
The device was released by T-Mobile in the US in October 2011 and Telus in
Canada in the subsequent month. Later in the year, other Canadian carriers
such as Mobilicity and WIND Mobile also released this device on their
networks.
The
smart phone seems to primarily focus on photo and video shooting side as it incorporates
all the camera specific offerings which were available in the previously
released T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide. The device features an illuminated 8MPm
camera with dual LED flash and zero shutter lag for quick photos. Also, the
device includes 1080p video capture which complements its high end camera
offerings. Besides the camera, the HTC Amaze 4G has a 1.5GHz dual core processor
from the Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 category which delivers an astonishing
Gingerbread experience. The smart phone also features a 4.3 inch HD Super LCD
display, 4G HSPA+ connectivity and NFC capabilities.
Before
we start rooting, DISCLAIMER: Rooting may void the device’s warranty and the
below mentioned method may be a bit risky and we are not responsible if the
device is damaged or you lose data, therefore it is advisable to please
proceed at your own risk.
Make
sure that the battery is fully charged, because if the battery drains totally
during the rooting process, bricking may happen. Also make sure to create a
backup of the device data such as SMS, internet settings, contacts and other
media files in order to get data back in case of problems.
Step
1: Download HTC drivers from the link here.
Step
2: Enable "USB Debugging". Path for USB debugging is Menu>Settings>Applications>Development.
Step 3:
Also enable "Unknown Sources" from the following path: Menu>Settings>Applications
Step 4:
Now download the One Click Permanent Root tool from the link here.
Step
5: Now install the HTC Drivers, which were downloaded in step 1 on to the PC so
that the One Click Perm Root tool can detect the HTC Amaze 4G correctly.
Step 6:
Now connect the smart phone to the computer via USB data cable.
Step 7:
After the phone is detected by the system, extract the Zerg_Root_OneClick.zip
file, which was earlier downloaded in step 4 to the C:\.
Step
8: Now double click the ZergRushTempRoot.bat file to run it.
Step 9:
Let the application complete its process, it will take approximately 3
minutes to complete it.
Step
10: That’s it once the application’s process is over please reboot the device.
After reboot you will have a rooted HTC Amaze 4G smart phone.
