Today
we will discuss how to root the HTC Dream, which is also known as the T-Mobile
G1 in the United States and Europe. The device is also marketed as Era G1 in
Poland. The HTC Dream is the first smart phone in the market globally to use
Android OS. The device was originally launched in October 2008.
The
phone has a 3.2’’ TFT LCD flat capacitive touch screen with 480×320 pixel
resolution. Although the device’s touch screen is capable of doing multi touch
gestures, it is disabled in the shipped versions of the phones running Android
OS 1.6 and lower. User can root their device to update it to Android 2.0 and
enable the multi touch facility. The
smart phone has an ARM-based dual-core CPU; GPU from Qualcomm and has many
built in features such as 3G. The HTC Dream comes with a sliding 5 row qwerty
keyboard. IT also has a set of six dedicated navigation buttons.

Step 1:
Open the phone’s browser and paste the following URL in the address bar http://kan.gd/stm.
Step
2: In the website download the Universal Androot tool and install it on the
phone.
Step
3: Now open the Universal Androot app in the smart phone and tap the ‘Root’
optio and simply wait for the rooting to finish.
That’s
it you now have a rooted HTC Dream with SuperUser permissions.
