The Motorola Backflip, also
known as the Motorola Motus in some geographic regions is a touch screen
smart phone launched in the US on AT&T Mobility network. The device is
also sold on Telus and Optus networks in other countries. The smart phone
runs on the Google Android 1.5 with Motoblur and has a 528 mHz processor,
which is overclockable to 768 MHz.
The device has a full Qwerty
keypad and a unique "reverse flip" design, which allows the user to
c\see the screen even when the device is closed. The smartphone’s screen is
3.1’’ and has a OVERALL SIZE OF 53.0 × 108.0 × 15.3 mm. The device features a
1400 mAh Li Ion battery and boasts a talk time of
350 min and standby time of
up to 315 hrs. The device has a RAM of 256MB and a ROM of 512MB. The smart
phone features microSD which can support memory of up to 32 GB. The device
also has a 5 MP camera with 4X digital zoom, LED flash and automatic focus.

a bit risky and we are not responsible if the device is damaged or you lose
data, therefore it is advisable to please proceed at your own risk.
Make sure that the battery is
fully charged, because if the battery drains totally during the rooting
process, bricking may happen. Also make sure to create a backup of the device
data such as SMS, internet settings, contacts and other media files in order
to get data back in case of problems.
Step 1: First of all download
the z4root application from the location to a place of your
choice on the PC.
Step 2: After download unzip
the contents of the file to the PC. Make sure to paste the.apk file in a
place which is easy to access.
Step 3: Connect the smart
phone with the PC using the USB data cable.
Step 4: Now copy the Z4Root’s
apk file to the device.
Step 5: Navigate to the application
page and tap on the Z4Root app to install it.
Step 6: After installation of
the application tap the Z4 Root application, you will see a new window with
two options: Temporary root or Permanent Root. Select the permanent root and
wait for the application to complete its work. This will root the device.
That’s it after rooting the device will reboot itself.
After reboot you will have a
rooted Motorola Backflip.
