Today
we will discuss how to root the HTC EVO Shift 4G. The EVO Shift 4Gis an Android-based
smart phone, which was launched by Sprint in the US as part of its lineup of
EVO devices. The device launched in January 2011 features a full size qwerty
keypad and a 5MP camera with 720p video.
The phone
measures 4.6X2.4X0.6 inches and is made up of midnight blue plastic. It has a
faux aluminum texture encircling the front panel and a good soft touch back
panel. Its 3.6’’ glass capacitive touch screen has pixel resolution of 480-by-800.
Its four-row qwerty keyboard is a bid cramped compared to Epic 4G's five-row
design. The EVO shift 4G has a dual band EVDO Rev A of 850/1900 MHz. It
supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and can connect to Internet via the Clearwire's
WiMAX network.

we start, DISCLAIMER: Rooting may void the device’s warranty and the below
mentioned method may be a bit risky and we are not responsible if the device
is damaged or you lose data, therefore it is advisable to please proceed at
your own risk.
Make
sure that the battery is fully charged, because if the battery drains totally
during the rooting process, bricking may happen. Also make sure to create a backup
of the device data such as SMS, internet settings, contacts and other media
files in order to get data back in case of problems.
Step
1: Make sure all the HTC device drivers are installed on the PC. You can get
all the drivers in the bundled package, which came with your device or you
can visit site to download them.
Step
2: Make sure to enable USB Debugging on the smart phone. The path to enable
USB debugging is
Settings
> Applications > Development > Turn USB Debugging ON.
Step
4: Now extract the contents of the Zip file to a location of your choice.
Step 5: Now right click the SuperTool.exe file within
the extracted files and select the command to “run as administrator” to run
the program.
Step 6:
Wait for the app to complete its work. Once the app finishes its work, reboot
the device.
After
reboot, you will have a rooted HTC EVO Shift 4G.
